BRUTTIUM. Kroton. Circa 360 BC. Nomos (Silver, 22 mm, 7.56 g, 1 h). Head of Hera Lakinia three-quarters facing, turned slightly to the right, wearing stephane ornamented with palmettes. Rev. ΚΡΟ[ΤΩΝΙΑΤΑΝ] Youthful Herakles seated to left on a rock draped with his lion's skin, holding a one-handled cup in his right hand and resting his left on his club; below, bow. Basel 198. HN III 2167. SNG ANS 371. SNG Lloyd 616. SNG Oxford 1521-1522. Beautifully toned and with a splendid obverse. Struck on an oblong flan with the result that figure of Herakles on the reverse has no head (!), otherwise, extremely fine.

SICILY. Entella. Punic issues, circa 345/38-320/15 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25.5 mm, 17.39 g, 6 h). Head of Tanit-Persephone to right, wearing wreath of grain leaves, triple-pendant earring and pearl necklace; behind her neck, symbol of Tanit; around, three dolphins. Rev. Horse standing right before palm tree; to right, kerykeion. Gulbenkian 368 (same dies). Jenkins, Punic 89 (O31/R80). SNG Lloyd 1619-1620 (same dies). SNG Lockett 1039 (same dies). An attractive piece, nicely centered, attractively toned and of good style. Extremely fine.

'MHSBM Horse's head to left; behind, date palm; to left, astragalos. Cf. Jenkins, Punic 367 (O114/R-). Beautifully toned and centered. Extremely fine.
