Septimius Severus, 193-211. Aureus (Gold, 20 mm, 7.08 g, 11 h), indian imitation of the Aurei minted in Rome in 205. SEVEБYS VI - PIVS VΛC Laureate head of Septimius Severus to right. Rev. IM MTP P XIII - COS III PP Jupiter standing left, holding thunderbolt in his extended right hand and scepter in his left; at Jupiter's feet to left, eagle standing left, its head turned back to right. Attractively toned and of interesting style. Traces of mounting, otherwise, good very fine.
