PHOENICIA. Tyre. 126/5 BC-AD 65/6. Half Shekel (Silver, 22.5 mm, 6.92 g, 12 h), year EM = 45 = 82/81. Laureate head of Melkart to right, with lion's skin tied around his neck. Rev. ΤΥΡΟΥ ΙΕΡΑΣ ΚΑΙ ΑΣΥΛΟΥ Eagle standing left on prow; palm frond in background; in left field, EM above club; to right, Δ; between eagle's legs, 𐤀, (A in Phoenician). DCA-Tyre 485. DCA 921. HGC 10, 358. Attractive and clear. Some scratches on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
