BAKTRIA, Greco-Baktrian Kingdom. Eukratides I, circa 170-145 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31.5 mm, 17.01 g, 12 h), c. later 160s. Diademed and draped bust of Eukratides to right, wearing Macedonian helmet adorned with bull's horn and ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ / ΕΥΚΡΑΤΙΔΟΥ The Dioskouri galloping to right, each holding spear and palm branch; below right, monogram of ΔΙΟΦ. Bopearachchi Series 6E. HGC 12, 131. MIG 177ee. SNG ANS 465. A superb, lightly toned, lustrous, well-struck coin, perfectly centered on a broad flan. Virtually as struck.
