KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 17.02 g, 12 h), Cyrene, c. 305-300. Head of Herakles to left, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔΡOΥ Zeus seated left on throne without a back, holding long scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with closed wings; in left field, monogram of ΙΠΟ. Price 3986. Very rare with Herakles facing to left. Lightly toned and of fine style. Very fine.
