KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 8.47 g, 10 h), struck under Leonnatos, Arrhidaios, or Antigonos I Monophthalmos, Abydos, c. 323-317. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Charioteer driving galloping biga to right, holding the reins in his left hand and a goad with his right; below horses forelegs, monogram of ΠΑΡ. ADM II Series VII, 97 (same dies). Cf. SNG ANS 266-300 (additional control). Cf. Thompson, Philip 25 (same). Nicely centered. Scrape on reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
