ETRURIA. Populonia. Circa 3rd century BC. 20 Asses (Silver, 15.3 mm, 8.62 g, 12 h). Facing head of Metus (Gorgon), mark of value (XX) below. Rev. Two caducei, tête-bêche. EC Series 48.77 (O14/R18, this coin). HN III 150. Kraay & Hirmer 327 (same dies). Vecchi 48. An attractive piece with an especially clear and well-struck reverse. Minor die rust and the usual die break on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
