CORINTHIA. Corinth. Circa 500-450 BC. Stater (Silver, 19 mm, 8.72 g, 6 h). Ϙ Pegasos flying to right, wearing a bridle and with a curved wing. Rev. Head of Aphrodite to right, wearing her helmet raised up on the top of her head and a pearl necklace. Pegasi -. Ravel 158 (P99)/161 (T123). Rare. Very attractively toned and centered. Some striking flatness, otherwise, extremely fine.

From a European collection, and that of Dr. A. E. Mirsky and the Rockefeller University, Gemini VII, 9 January 2011, 402, originally acquired by Dr. Mirsky (1900-1974) prior to 1959.
