ATTICA. Athens. Circa 440-430 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 17.24 g, 5 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with three olive leaves and palmette, round earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing to right, head facing; behind, olive spray and crescent moon; all within incuse square. Cf. Svoronos pl. 13, 7. A beautifully centered example, of a very restrained Classical style and with a complete helmet crest. Good extremely fine.
