Aelia Pulcheria, Augusta, 414-453. Solidus (Gold, 21 mm, 4.26 g, 6 h), struck under Theodosius II, Constantinople, 441-450. AEL PVLCH - ERIA AVG Draped and diademed bust of Pulcheria to right, crowned by Hand of God above, wearing pearl necklace, earrings and with an elaborate brooch on her shoulder. Rev. IMP XXXXII COS - XVII P P / COMOB Constantinopolis enthroned to left, holding globus cruciger in her right hand and scepter in her left; in left field, star. Depeyrot 84/3. RIC 316. Scratches, some smoothing and a probable plugged hole, otherwise, good fine.

From the Trausnitz Collection, acquired from Münzhandlung Athena on 19 May 1992, and from a certain German auction or FPL under the lot number 1318.
