Vetranio, 350. Centenionalis (Bronze, 23 mm, 4.44 g, 12 h), Siscia, 2nd officina (B). D N VETRANIO P F AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Vetranio to right, behind neck, A. Rev. HOC SIGNO VICTOR ERIS / A / BSIS✶ Vetranio, in military attire, standing facing, head to left, holding labarum with Christogram with his right hand and spear in his left, being crowned with wreath by Victory standing behind him, holding palm. LRBC 1166. RIC 279. Dark green patina. Rough deposits, otherwise, good very fine.

From the Trausnitz Collection, acquired in June 1995.

The reverse inscription "HOC SIGNO VICTOR ERIS" refers to the Christogram on the labarum and stands for "with this symbol you will prevail" or "Εν τούτω νίκα" in Greek.
