SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. Antioch. Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 12.85 g, 10 h), dated year 26 of the Actian Era and Cos. XII = 5/4 BC. KAIΣAPOΣ ΣEBAΣTOY Laureate head of Augustus to right. Rev. ETOYΣ ςK (Actian era date) NIKHΣ Tyche seated right on rock, holding palm frond with her right hand; below, half-length figure of river-god Orontes swimming right; in right field, monogram (=ΥΠΑTOY) and IB (consular date) above monogram (=ANTIOXIEΩN?). McAlee 180.; Prieur 50. RPC 4151. Attractive portrait. Light porosity and a couple of minor scratches, otherwise, good very fine.
