BAKTRIA, Greco-Baktrian Kingdom. Euthydemos I, circa 225-200 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30.5 mm, 16.31 g, 12 h), Attic standard, mint A (near Aï Khanoum), c. 225-220/215. Diademed head of Euthydemos I to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΕΥΘΥΔΗΜΟΥ Weary Herakles seated to left, holding his club with his right hand, propping it on stylized rocks, and resting his left hand on the stones on which he is sitting; to right, behind stones, monogram of ΦΑ. Bopearachchi 5B. HGC 12, 40. Kritt A1. SNG ANS 124-7. Toned and with a nice portrait. Lamination flaw on obverse, otherwise, very fine.
