LYDIA. Tralleis. Circa 166-67 BC. Cistophoric Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 12.58 g, 10 h), struck under the magistrate Ptol(emaios), year E = 129 BC. Cista mystica with half-open lid from which a serpent issues to the left; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; above, ΠTOΛ; to left, TPAΛ; to right, Dionysos standing facing, holding long thyrsos with his right hand and mask of Silenos with the left. BMC 48. Cf.
