KINGS OF MACEDON. Time of Philip V and Perseus, 187-168 BC. Triobol (Silver, 13.5 mm, 1.76 g, 1 h), struck in the name of the Botteatans, Pella, in the district of Bottiaia (or possibly Thessaloniki?). Macedonian shield ornamented with seven linear crescents around the edge and a tetraskeles of crescents at the center. Rev. ΒΟΤΤΕΑΤΩΝ inscribed on stern of galley to right. AMNG 123. SNG Ashmolean 3289. Liampi, Schild M47. Toned. Very fine.
