KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26.5 mm, 17.12 g), Damascus, c. 330-320. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on backless throne, holding eagle in his right hand and lotus-tipped scepter in his left; to left, forepart of ram to right; below throne, ΔΑ. Price 3202. A well struck and clear example. Obverse very lightly doublestruck, otherwise, about extremely fine.
