KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32.5 mm, 16.74 g, 12 h), Miletos, c. 190-165. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with closed wings; to left, star above lion walking left, head right, and monogram; to right, two monograms. Price 2213. Lightly toned and well centered. Surface granularity, otherwise, very fine.
