KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 22 mm, 14.31 g, 9 h), struck posthumously under Kassander, Amphipolis, 316-311. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠ-ΠΟΥ Nude jockey riding horse walking to right, holding long palm branch in his right hand; below horse, dolphin; ΠΟ monogram below horse's raised foreleg. Le Rider pl. 46, 19. SNG ANS 751. Troxell, Studies Group 9, 331–2. Lightly toned and with a bold portrait of Zeus . Test cuts on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
