SICILY. Leontini. Circa 425-420 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 16.76 g, 5 h). Laureate head of Apollo to right; behind, olive spray. Rev. LEO-NT-I-N-ON Head of roaring lion to right, with open jaws and tongue protruding; three barley grains around; below, mullet swimming to right. Boehringer, Münzgeschichte 62 = de Luynes 1000 (same dies). Gillet 652 (same dies). HGC 2, 674. Rare type. Attractive cabinet tone and of fine style. Good very fine.
