SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Antiochos X Eusebes Philopator, Circa 94-88 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 15.67 g, 12 h), second reign, Antioch on-the-Orontes, 93/2-88 BC. Diademed head of Antiochos to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ/ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟV // ΕVΣΕΒΟVΣ/ΦΙΛΟΠΑΤΟΡΟΣ Zeus seated left on throne, holding Nike on his right hand and an upright scepter with his left; below throne, monogram of ΔΙ; all within laurel wreath; outer left, monogram over A. CSE 379. SC 2434.1. Attractive and clear. Corroded areas on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.

From the collection of W. Belser, Zürich, prior to 1965, and that of his son, acquired from Bank Leu with its original 1960s-early 1970s ticket bearing the inventory number IA 5842.
