SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Demetrios II Nikator, Second reign, 129-126/5 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16.5 mm, 3.46 g, 12 h), Tyre, year ΔΠΡ (184) of the Seleukid era = 129-128. Diademed and draped bust of Demetrios II to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ Eagle standing left on prow, with palm branch over his right shoulder; to left, Α/ΡΕ over club topped by the Tyre monogram; to right, monogram of ΑΣΥ over ΔΠΡ; between legs, monogram. DCA 235. HGC 9, 1131. SC 2197.1b. Rare denomination for the issue. A handsome coin with a particularly clear reverse. Obverse slightly off-centre, otherwise, good very fine.
