SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Seleukos I Nikator, 312-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.06 g, 1 h), in the name of Philip III of Macedon, Babylon (II), c. 318/7-315. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Zeus seated left on a throne with a back, holding long scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with closed wings; to left, prow of galley left, inscribed ΛY; below throne, Z. Duyrat Group V, Series 11. Cf. HGC 9, 11. Price P158. SC CAd43.15. Well struck and lightly toned. Scrape on reverse, otherwise, very fine.
