PHRYGIA. Laodikeia. Circa 133/88-67 BC. Cistophoric Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 12.48 g, 12 h), struck under the magistrate Zeuxis, son of Apollonios and grandson of Amyntas, c. 70. Cista mystica with half-open lid from which a serpent issues to the left; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. ΛAO / ZΕΥΞΙΣ ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΙΟΥ ΤΟΥ ΑΜΥΝΤΟΥ Two serpents coiled around a bow case; to right, winged kerykeion (off flan on this coin). BMC 4. SNG von Aulock 3798. Extremely rare. Sharply struck. Reverse slightly double-struck, otherwise, extremely fine.
