SICILY. Akragas. Phintias, tyrant, 287-279 BC. (Bronze, 15 mm, 2.94 g, 1 h). (ΑΚΡΑΓΑΝΤΙ)-partially visible. Laureate head of Apollo to left. Rev. ΦΙ Eagle standing right, with closed wings and with his head turned back to left. CNS 119.3. SNG ANS 1125. SNG Copenhagen 98. A particularly fine and attractive example, well-struck from fresh dies, and with a dark green-brown patina. Extremely fine.
