THRACE. Pautalia. Caracalla, 198-211. Triassarion (Bronze, 28 mm, 14.75 g, 7 h), c. 205-208. ΑVΤ Κ Μ ΑVΡΗ - ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟC Laureate head of Caracalla to right. Rev. ΟVΛΠΙΑC - ΠΑVΤΑΛΙΑC Hermes, nude but for cloak around his shoulders, standing to left, holding purse in his right hand and kerykeion with his left; at his feet to left, rooster standing left. Mouchmov 4305. Varbanov 5150. With an attractive dark green patina, and an unusual familiar animal, very well depicted. Very minor traces of cleaning, otherwise, about extremely fine.
