ATTICA. Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31.5 mm, 16.63 g, 12 h), c. 165-149/8. Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasos. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing facing on amphora; to left and right, monogram; below, in field to left, grain ear; around, olive wreath. Svoronos pl. 34, 6-10. Thompson 51. Clear and well-centered. Once cleaned, with traces of corrosion and with a slightly double-struck reverse, otherwise, very fine.
