LUCANIA. Sybaris. Circa 550-510 BC. Stater (Silver, 30 mm, 7.99 g, 12 h). ΜV (retrograde) Bull standing to left on dotted ground line, his head turned back to right; all within a border of dots. Rev. Bull standing to right, on dotted ground line; around, border of dots; all incuse. HN III 1729. SNG ANS 836. A beautifully toned and sharp example. Some very minor marks and slight metal faults on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
