ATTICA. Athens. Circa 449-404 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 17.21 g, 8 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet with palmette and three olive leaves. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing to right, head facing; behind, olive spray and crescent moon. HGC 4, 1597. Kroll 8. Cf. Svoronos pl. 17, 4. Nicely toned and attractive. Good very fine.

From the collection of W. Belser, Zürich, prior to 1965, and that of his son, acquired in the early 1970s.
