THESSALY. Pharsalos. Last quarter of the 5th Century BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 5.95 g, 12 h), Dies signed by Telephantos. Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet; small TH and IΠ between crest and neck guard. Rev. Φ-A-P-Σ Thessalian cavalryman on horse prancing right, wearing petasos and holding a lagobolon; small TH in exergue. BCD Thessaly II 638. Lavva 80 (V41/R48). A most attractive example, struck from very well-engraved dies . Some crystallisation, otherwise, good very fine.
