ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ E(ESSAI) 1877 Mature head of George I to left; below truncation, in tiny letters, BAPPE. Rev. Laurel wreath tied below, containing ΟΒΟΛΟΣ / 5 / ΛΕΠΤΑ in three lines; below denomination, ESSAI flanked by two anchors (privy mark of the Engraver General, A. D. Barre, 1855-1878). Divo P92. Karamitsos T.67. KM E20. This coin exhibits an aesthetically pleasing patina coloring, enhancing its overall visual appeal. Graded by NGC "PF 65 RB". Top pop in NGC and PCGS. RECI-NON Iokastos, bearded and draped from the waist, seated left on backless stool, holding long scepter in his right hand and left resting on hip; all within olive wreath. Herzfelder 16 (D9/R14). HN III 2471. SNG ANS 644 (same dies). Toned. Somewhat porous, otherwise, very fine.
