KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip III Arrhidaios, 323-317 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16 mm, 4.27 g, 12 h), Sardes, circa 322-319/8. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; to left, TI; below throne, rose. An apparently unpublished variety. Hersh -. Price -. Cf. CNG E239, 2010, 55. Possibly the second example known. Well centered and attractively toned. Very fine.

From the stock of an old Swiss dealer assembled mainly in the 1960s-1970s.
