KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 35 mm, 16.04 g, 12 h), struck posthumously, Samos, c. 201. Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on backless throne, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; to left, prow left. Cf. Barron 3-7 (dies not recorded). Price 2446. Light corrosion on obverse, otherwise, nearly very fine.
