KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 35.5 mm, 15.87 g, 12 h), Mesembria, c. 175-125. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on high-backed throne, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, helmet above unceraint monogram. Cf. Price 1039 ff. Toned. Die-break on reverse, obverse slightly double-struck, otherwise, nearly very fine.

From the stock of an old Swiss dealer assembled mainly in the 1960s-1970s.
