ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 411-340 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16 mm, 3.66 g, 7 h). Bearded head of Dionysos to left, wearing ivy wreath with berries at his forehead. Rev. Θ[ΑΣ]-Ι-ΟΝ Herakles, wearing lion's skin headdress and short hunting chiton, kneeling right, shooting his bow. HGC 6, 343. Le Rider, Thasiennes 15. Cf. West p. 33, 1 (AV). Well centered and with old collection toning. Very fine.

From the stock of an old Swiss dealer assembled mainly in the 1960s-1970s.
