MACEDON. Dium. Gallienus, 253-268. Diassarion (Bronze, 23 mm, 5.76 g, 1 h). IMP GAL-LIENVS AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gallienus to right. Rev. COL IVL DIENSIS / D-D Asklepios standing facing, head to left, leaning on grounded serpent-entwined staff held in his right hand. Kremydi-Sicilianou 22. Varbanov 3551. Green and brown patina. Very fine.



The initials D D stand for "Decreto Decurionum", which testifies that the mintage of the coinage was authorized by a relative decree of the Senate of Dium.
