KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 16.82 g, 10 h), Struck under Stamenes or Archon, Babylon, 324-323. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; to left star over M; below throne, monogram. Price 3630. Toned; obverse struck in high relief. Old scrape on the reverse, otherwise, about very fine.
