CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 380-325 BC. Diobol (Silver, 12 mm, 1.14 g, 1 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet the bowl of which is decorated with a hippocamp; below chin, tiny A. Rev. [TAPAN-TIN]ΩΝ Herakles standing facing, leaning to right, lifting and strangling the Nemean lion grasped in a choke hold; in left field but off flan on this specimen, club. HN III 914. Vlasto 1278. Toned. A few tiny scratches, otherwise, good very fine.

From a collection in Ticino formed prior to 2000.
