THRACE. Pautalia. Commodus, 177-192. Assarion (Bronze, 20 mm, 4.09 g, 1 h). AY MAP KOMOΔOC Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Commodus to right. Rev. OYΛΠIAC ΠAYTAΛIAC Grape bunch on stem. RPC IV Online temp. 8884. Ruzicka 257 corr. Cf. Varbanov 4558 (bareheaded and obv. legend). Dark green and brown patina. A few light cleaning marks, overall a bit rough, otherwise, very fine.

HΓΕ ΚΑΙΚΙΝΟA ΛΑΡΓ[ΟY OYΛ]ΠIAC ΠΑYΤΑΛΙ/ΑC Apollo standing facing, head to left, holding patera over garlanded and flaming altar, in his outstretched right hand, grape branch with his left hand. Ruzicka 273. Varbanov 4634. Pleasing green and brown patina with earthen hues. Very fine.
