THRACE. Pautalia. Lucius Verus, 161-169. Hemiassarion (Bronze, 18 mm, 3.72 g, 12 h). ΑYΤ ΚΑΙ Λ ΑYΡ ΟYΗΡΟC Bare head of Lucius Verus to right. Rev. ΠΑYΤΑ-ΛΙΩΤΩΝ Infant Dionysos seated to right in cradle, extending both his arms; behind him, filleted thyrsos. RPC IV Online temp. 10180 (this coin). Cf. Ruzicka 173. Varbanov 4515. Very rare – one of just two known specimens. Nearly very fine.

RPC notes only one example of this type – this coin. However, there is a second example known, which was from the Tom Cederlind Estate and was used to illustrate the type in Varbanov. That coin recently sold in Classical Numismatic Group E390, 1 February 2017, 313, and had been offered previously in Cederlind 128, 1 July 2003, 114.
