THRACE. Byzantium. Pseudo-autonomous issue, 3rd century. Assarion (Bronze, 20.5 mm, 6.99 g, 7 h), struck under the magistrate, Frodo, circa 222-235. Head of youthful Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. ΕΠ ΦΡΟΝΤ(ΩΝ)Ο-C ΒVΖΑΝΤΙ(ΩΝ) Grape bunch on vine. Schönert-Geiss 2123 (V21/R44). Dark surfaces. Light pitting on the obverse, otherwise, fine.
