Thompson 633a (this obverse die). Toned. Good very fine.

From the Vineyard Collection, acquired from Coin Galleries in NYC in December 1998.

The name Miltiades brings to mind the famous Athenian general Miltiades, who commanded the Athenian army when they defeated the Persians at the battle of Marathon. Whether the magistrate here might be a distant relative is unknown.
