ATTICA. Athens. 137/6 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.83 g, 11 h), New Style, struck under the magistrates Mikion and Theophrastos. Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasos. Rev. Α-ΘΕ / ΜΙ/ΚΙ - / ΘΕΟ/ΦΡΑ Owl standing facing on amphora; to right, Nike driving chariot to right; on amphora, E (= month 5); below amphora, ΣΩ (= contractor’s initials). Thompson 316c var (same obverse die but from a differing reverse die). Toned. Obverse lightly struck from a worn die, otherwise, good very fine.
