CELTIC, Southern Gaul. Insubres. Later 3rd - first half 2nd century BC. Drachm (Silver, 14 mm, 3.19 g, 2 h). Wreathed head of Artemis to right, wearing a triple pendant earring and a pearl necklace, and with her hair in small curls. Rev. Lion with scorpion-like head standing to right; above, barbarized pattern of lines imitating an inscription. CCCBM II S17. Pautasso, Contributi, 1970, pl. XVII, 54. SLM 1007. Rare in this condition. A very attractive example, well struck and lightly toned. Good extremely fine.
