BRUTTIUM. The Brettii. 215-214 BC. Hemidrachm (Gold, 12 mm, 2.13 g, 5 h). Head of bearded Herakles to left, wearing lion's skin headdress; to left, below chin, tiny Γ; to right, club with head downwards. Rev. ΒΡΕΤΤΙΩΝ Nike driving biga galloping to right; below, tiny Γ and serpent coiled to right. Arslan AV 5-8. HN III 1953. Scheu G8. SNG ANS 15. SNG Lloyd 540. Very rare. Attractively toned and with a fine, miniature head of Herakles. Extremely fine.
