KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16 mm, 4.16 g, 6 h), Sardes, circa 330-323. Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated to left on a backless throne, holding eagle in his outstreched right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, kantharos. ADM I Series VII. Price 2542. Well centered on a compact flan. Porous surface, minor scuffs on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
