ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 340-300 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 18 mm, 6.95 g, 7 h). Bearded head of Dionysos to left, wearing wreath of ivy leaves with berries at his forehead. Rev. ΘΑΣΙΟΝ Herakles, wearing lion-skin headdress and short, hunting chiton, kneeling right, shooting his bow; to right, HΓ monogram. HGC 6, 353. Le Rider, Thasiennes 31. West 43. Lightly toned. Very fine.
