PHRYGIA. Synnada. Pseudo-autonomous issue, 2nd-early 3rd centuries. Hemiassarion (Bronze, 16 mm, 2.91 g, 1 h), c. 138-218. Helmeted and draped bust of Athena to right, wearing aegis. Rev. CYNNAΔEΩN Owl standing to right, head facing, on overturned amphora. BMC 11-12. RPC IV Online temp. 9796. SNG Copenhagen 709. Nicely centered; brown patina. Very fine.



The types on this coin derive directly from the Athenian 'New Style' issues of the second and first centuries BC.
