ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α! ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ / 1911 Elderly head of George I to left; below truncation, in tiny letters, Γ. ΙΑΚΩΒΙΔΗΣ; below, flanking the date, privy marks cornucopia (for the Mint Director) and torch (for the Engraver General, Henri-Auguste Patey, 1896-1930). Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ Crowned and mantled shield bearing the coat of arms of the kingdom of Greece; below, • 2 ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ•; in tiny letters on the lower right field, ESSAI. Karamitsos T.76, KM E23. Tzamalis, Νομίσματα Ελληνικού Χώρου, Δ38 (this coin). Extremely rare, only three examples known. Uncirculated and with very attractive original toning. Graded by NGC "MS 63". Cert number: 6644262-003. Virtually as struck.

LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 340-330 BC. Nomos (Silver, 19 mm, 7.74 g, 12 h). Head of Demeter to right, wearing barley wreath, triple-pendant earring and a simple necklace, and with a light veil at the back of her head. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Grain ear with leaf to right; above leaf, oinochoe; below, ΦI. HN III 1568. Johnston Class A, 8. Minor planchet flaws, otherwise, good very fine.
