LYCAONIA. Iconium. Domitian Caesar, 69-81. Assarion (Bronze, 20 mm, 4.29 g, 1 h), struck under the name of Claudiconium. ΔΟΜΙΤΙΑ[ΝΟC Κ]ΑΙCΑΡ Laureate head of Domitian to right. Rev. ΚΛΑΥΔEΙ-ΚΟΝΙEΩΝ Victory standing on globe to right, holding wreath in her right hand and palm branch over her left shoulder. RIC II 1608A. Attractive and clear. Obverse slightly off-centre, otherwise, about extremely fine.

Interestingly enough Iconium was both a Roman colony and a Greek polis: it had, thus, coins with Latin legends and others, as this one, with legends in Greek.
