SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Seleukos I Nikator, 312-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 16.48 g, 5 h), Seleukeia-on-the-Tigris, circa 300-281. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΣΕΛΕΥΚΟΥ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ Zeus seated left on high backed throne, holding eagle in his extended right hand and scepter in his left; in field to left, monogram; below throne, ΔI. ESM 4. HGC 9, 12i. SC 117.1c. Struck in very high relief. Flan fault on the obverse and with considerable roughness, otherwise, very fine.
